Feedback from testers on the PTR seems pretty inconclusive. If this build keeps up with Lightning base setups has yet to be seen. The new tier set will not alleviate this issue in any way.Īs compensation, you get a build with unparalleled funneling capabilities and mobility. The issue with this build is still that it struggles significantly with Single Target damage. While Lightning is all the hype right now, it seems unlikely that the "Wildfire" build becomes unplayable in any way. This build has significant problems with movement, but as long as you are able to stay in a spot and continue casting, the damage is pretty good. The free Stormkeeper procs from the tier set in combination with Lightning Rod can lead to some impressive damage numbers while Icefury and Surge of Power carry the Single Target. With Lightning being the name of the game in Season 2, we are putting all our eggs into the basket again and running with a full AoE version of the Lightning Setup. The new tier set synergizes well with those and dungeons seem to be designed in a way to mobility matter less than in the previous season. In Season 2 of Dragonflight Lightning builds are expected to reign supreme for Elemental Shaman in Mythic+. The choice of Mountains Will Fall and Elemental Blast cashes in on the Maelstrom generated without costing us too many CDs, leaving us able to still spend all of our Lava Surge as soon as they come up. With these casts, we try to proc Deeply Rooted Elements which in turn gives us access to even more Lava Burst, continuing the cycle. Lava Surge amplifies this a little further. Primordial Surge gives us 4 charges every roughly 30 seconds. In Fire builds we try to maximize the number of Lava Burst we can cast. This build is your default choice if you are still running the Tier 29 Set. Both are performing roughly equally in practice. The "Hybrid" build uses Stormkeeper and synergizes a lot better with the Tier 30 effects. The "Pure" version is focussing on pure Fire Talents. The versions of the Fire build I am putting here are running Mountains Will Fall to utilize the high amount of Mastery we are still running after Season 1. The additional mobility of these builds helps a lot while you are still learning boss fights too. When you still only have access to your Tier 29 set Fire builds should still be outperforming Lightning at the start. Eye of the Storm makes Surge of Power more common by making Earth Shock cheaper and Storm Elemental enables you to generate Maelstrom faster, by reducing your cast time on Lightning Bolt.įlow of Power just further increases our Maelstrom generation.Įcho Chamber increases the damage done by all the guaranteed overloads by another 15% and Mountains Will Fall is an easy pickup given the number of Earth Shock we are casting. Stormkeeper and Electrified Shocks both significantly amplify the damage of our empowered Lightning Bolts, being the important buffs to play around every minute. ![]() In this build, we do everything possible to benefit from Surge of Power. This is our default raiding build in 10.1 after acquiring at least 2 pieces of the Tier 30 set. The biggest perk of this build is being able to easily switch between damaging a Single Target and Cleave without any preparation and is pretty easy to play, requiring very little decision-making in the moment. We buff those further by using Electrified Shocks increasing our Nature damage dealt. This build focuses on using your Surge of Power on Lightning Bolt, giving you 2 free overloads every time you cast a spender, effectively doubling its damage.
